So after many unfruitful months of inactivity and sitting around, I decided to finally shoot something after Sea Hear Now in late September. I figured a night with Tool at the Prudential Center in NJ would kick start a spark in me that has been missing. Having decided to shoot Tool while being rusty, was a bold decision as they’re famously one of the hardest live acts to photograph due to the low light. The rust was evident while I fumbled with my controls for 30 seconds, but the muscle memory kicked in and felt comfortable thereafter.

Us photogs got one song to get their shots and before we knew it we were herded back to the Grammy Museum to stash our bags. By the time I got to my seat I had missed my favorite song by them called “The Pot,” but the entire show was mesmerizing and explosive as usual.
